Privacy policy

The company SOLJIT would like to inform you about the use we make of the information we collect when you visit our website (or our social media platforms or specialized applications) as well as when you visit the websites of our affiliated companies through authorized hyperlinks (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”). Therefore, this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and process the information you provide to us when you use the Site.

SOLJIT is aware of the issues raised regarding the circulation of personal information and browsing information on the Internet and wants to work with you to ensure the respect and protection of your privacy. For this reason, we want to explain what type of information we collect when you visit the Site and also when, how, and why we collect this information. SOLJIT wants to emphasize that we limit both the amount and nature of the information collected. Therefore, please read the following lines carefully and refer to them periodically to stay informed about any changes that may be made through updates to this page.

Personal Information

1. What do “Personal Information” mean and how are they collected?

“Personal Information” refers to information about an identifiable individual. This means information that can be used to identify you as the user of our site, such as your name, first name, residential address, email address, or phone number.

Rest assured that no personal information is collected on the Site without your consent. In certain specific circumstances, but always in an honest and lawful manner, such as when registering for our various personalization services (including the use of Single Sign-On from our social media partners), email communications, and online advertising contests, SOLJIT may require you to enter your name, first name, address, email address, and other personal information in an on-screen form. Therefore, when SOLJIT asks for such information, you are always explicitly and priorly notified, and you are informed that you are providing us with information that will be subject to a series of operations related to the collection, recording, use, modification, storage, and destruction of said Personal Information. SOLJIT will provide you with the means to verify that your personal data is accurate and up to date. Additionally, SOLJIT may ask you, through such forms, if you are interested in receiving information about other services, contests, or news about SOLJIT or its partners. You will always have the choice to decline this request or unsubscribe from a personalized service you have previously chosen.

We may also automatically collect general anonymous information about your use of the Site, such as the date and time of your visit to the Site and the pages of the Site you consult. Our servers may also collect information about the type of browser you are using, as well as your computer’s IP address and the name of your Internet service provider. This information is not Personal Information but rather Browsing Information, and we refer you to the section “Browsing Information” below for a better understanding of our policy on this matter. It is also possible that your email address is depersonalized (hashed, according to certain procedures) in order to be added to the browsing data.

2. How is Personal Information used?

The collection of Personal Information simply allows SOLJIT to provide you with a more relevant service to your needs, improve the content, interface, and features of the Site based on the collected information, contact you in the event that you win a prize, and, if you have expressed a desire, periodically send you information by email. These usage data are also used for monitoring purposes and aim to improve usability.

3. Are Personal Information shared with third parties?

It is important to note that we will not transfer, sell, or disclose your Personal Information in any way to a third party, including our advertisers, other clients, or partners, without first obtaining your express consent. Notwithstanding the above, your Personal Information may be disclosed: (i) to SOLJIT’s subsidiaries and affiliated companies, provided that your express consent is required when you provide this Personal Information for one of our paid services or a contest, and (ii) to third-party companies engaged by SOLJIT to store or process this information on behalf of SOLJIT under contractual agreements ensuring the confidentiality and security of this Personal Information. Please note that SOLJIT may use the services of third-party companies located outside of Canada. Therefore, even though SOLJIT requires these third parties to preserve the confidentiality and security of Personal Information according to the standards provided by the law, it is possible, in certain rare cases, that the laws in force in these foreign countries allow for the communication of Personal Information to judicial, quasi-judicial, or governmental authorities.

4. How and for how long are Personal Information retained?

The Personal Information collected by SOLJIT is stored on servers inaccessible to the public and is protected by security measures appropriate to their sensitivity. Therefore, rest assured that security measures protect your Personal Information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, copying, use, or unauthorized modification. To protect the confidentiality of your personal information, SOLJIT maintains administrative, technical, and physical protection measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of personal information under our custody and control. We will retain Personal Information only for as long as it is necessary or relevant for the purposes mentioned in the Policy or as required by law.

5. Is our protection of your Personal Information limited?

Notwithstanding the above and despite our good intentions and measures in place, no data transmission on the Site or on the Internet in general is completely guaranteed or secure. Consequently, we cannot assert, justify, or guarantee that your Personal Information will be protected against loss, misuse, or alteration during transmission, and therefore, we cannot accept any responsibility regarding the Personal Information transmitted by you that may be used or misused by third parties if the Personal Information were to be intercepted during transmission over the Internet or if we were subject to hacking.

In summary, the only situations in which SOLJIT may disclose Personal Information, in addition to those expressly provided by law, are as follows: (a) at the request of a legal authority or in good faith considering that such action is required to comply with any law or regulation in force, (b) to intervene in a lawsuit, to prevent fraud, to protect or defend the rights or property of SOLJIT or users of SOLJIT, and (c) to intervene, in extreme circumstances, in order to protect the personal safety of users of SOLJIT or the public.

6. Can you access your Personal Information or request its correction?

Yes, you can access the Personal Information about you or request its correction by submitting a written request to [email protected]. However, we will be able to respond to your request only if we have a personalized record about you (which is the case when you have provided us with, or consented to provide us with, Personal Information).

Browsing Information

1. What do “Browsing Information” mean, and how are they collected?

“Browsing Information” refers to general information about your browsing activity or your device. For example, information about your IP address, your browsing history (such as the time and duration you visited the pages of this site), the content of these pages, the number of clicks you make, your device type, the site you came from and the site you go to when leaving ours, your general geographic location (your country or province), as well as your hashed email and the ads and videos you view on the site. Browsing Information is depersonalized, meaning we do not use it to identify you (through coupling or otherwise). It is only used for the purposes described below. Browsing Information is collected using cookies, which are small data files that are stored on the hard drive of your electronic devices (such as your computer, tablet, or mobile device) when you browse this site. These cookies are automatically transmitted from this site’s server to your device’s browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla, etc.) and are stored, by default, on your device’s hard drive.

2. Who collects Browsing Information?

Browsing Information is collected, either in whole or in part, by (i) us, SOLJIT, its subsidiaries, and affiliated companies (“we”), and (ii) certain companies with which we collaborate for commercial or non-commercial purposes (such as our advertising partners, content partners, companies that may acquire certain assets, service providers, solution providers, or technology platforms related to this site) (“Partners”).

In addition to SOLJIT, it is possible for Partners to collect Browsing Information and analyze your use of our sites in order to improve their quality. In this case, only aggregated data on activities or histories are used. This collection includes the domain name, IP address, browser type and system you are using, your browser language, your geographic location, your query, your interests, and preferences. The data we and our Partners may collect are considered “non-sensitive” and are in a depersonalized form. Furthermore, our Partners are legally bound to adhere to recognized principles of personal information protection and comply with their own privacy policies. To this end, we invite you to consult the following pages of certain Partners to familiarize yourself with them: Google (google.com/analytics), DoubleClick (doubleclick.net), Omniture (http://www.adobe.com/privacy.html?promoid=JZEGB), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation), Krux (http://www.krux.com/privacy/), and Cxense (https://www.cxense.com/about-us/privacy-policy).

If you wish to disable the “remarketing cookie” feature on our Partners’ pages, you can request exclusion from them. For example, by visiting Google’s site (www.google.com/settings/ads), you can disable interest-based advertising on their site. You can do the same with Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/about/ads) or IAB (http://optout.networkadvertising.org/#/), as well as https://www.cxense.com/preferences?optOutStatus=false. Regarding temporary Google Analytics analysis cookies, you can block the collection of your data through the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. These opt-outs will not eliminate the display of ads but will prevent you from receiving targeted ads.

3. Is Browsing Information shared with third parties?

Without your consent, we will not disclose Browsing Information, except as described in question 2 and for the same purposes described in question 4. In such cases, we will take all available measures to ensure that they use Browsing Information according to our instructions and in compliance with this policy, applicable laws, and any other appropriate security and confidentiality measures.

4. How and for how long are Browsing Information retained?

Browsing Information may be stored on our servers, the servers of our service providers, or, if applicable, on the servers of our Partners. They are retained only for the time necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes, after which this information is deleted.

5. How can you prevent the collection of your Browsing Information?

Unless you take explicit action, browsing this site implies your consent to the collection of Browsing Information as described above. However, you can always delete cookies from your computers or completely disable the functionality that stores or archives cookies on this site through your browser’s settings. There are also features available to allow you to disable specific cookies and retain only the ones you prefer. If you’re interested, refer to your browser’s settings.

If you choose to disable these cookies, you will still be able to access the information on this site. However, this deactivation will treat you as a new user on each visit, and only random and non-personalized ads will be displayed.

However, it is possible that certain advanced features of this site may be inadvertently affected, as some cookies ensure the interrelationships between various pages of the site. If this deactivation affects your browsing experience, we invite you to contact us anytime through the contact information available on this site.

6. Can you access your Browsing Information or request its correction?

Yes, you can access Browsing Information about you or request its correction by submitting a written request to [email protected]. However, we will be able to respond to your request only if we have a personalized record about you (which is the case when you have provided us with, or consented to provide us with, personal information) and we can specifically associate you with Browsing Information about you.
